Great little Sam Smiths pub , with an old world charm about the place .comfortable cosy seating areas, and the open fires throw the heat on cold winter days, and a good selection of the local Old Brewery beer's.

Not my favourite pub in the area, but a charming one. You won't get a more authentic taste of Tadcaster, but it's not exactly a pretty pub to be in. Functional, friendly too, though lacking somewhat in the sort of ambiance that a tourist might expect, but that a local has no need for. I certainly wouldn't want for it to change, though I feel I may be suited better to other pubs in the town.
