I can't say enough good things about the Old Presbytery Guest House. First, the location and the Guest House itself are the most beautiful thing I've ever seen! It's absolutely gorgeous. The rolling hillside and ivy-covered stone walls and English cottages make a picturesque place to stay. Just a solid walk from Saxton, a park, a pub, and more, you can be out of the way of civilization without being too far at all. Chris and Christine were just the most welcoming and warm couple I've met. They even made us tea when we got there, which was so unexpected. They have a lovely German Shepherd named Jess, who is wary of visitors but also welcoming once she quiets downs. Inside, you will find an elegant, delightful guest house, which has tons of old stone and worn wood. You can tell the place has history. There is a booklet on the whole place so I would give it a look. There's some cool hidden features of the home that you may not know about just by looking around! The rates were good, the breakfast was delicious and served with homemade jam, coffee, warmed croissants, and yogurt. There was a full English breakfast available too, but that's not what we got. The whole area is gated, so it's certainly secure, and the room has an old lock that uses one of those antique styles of keys - which is cool and historic! Oh and Chris and Christine were wonderful, have I mentioned? They walked us through planning our whole day at the Towton Battlefield and we would have been lost without them. We had a wonderful stay thanks to them and their amazing guest house. I'll definitely be going back!!

Very welcoming and warm when you arrive. Especially when you come back from working, to tea and home made cake. Infront of a beautiful Wood burner. Room was a good size and cozy. Good breakfasts in the morning which won't leave you hungry.Good for business trip stay or couples.

Lovely guest house

We really enjoyed our time here. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly, and had great suggestions of places to go and things to see. The next time we're in the area we will be staying here.
